therapy dog

Therapy Dog

SMS is fortunate to have a therapy dog in our building on a daily basis. His name is Sullivan Chicken Nugget, also known as Sully. He has been a valuable member of the SMS staff since December 2023. Ms. Kruth, our choir teacher, is his owner.
During our first day of school she talked to the sixth graders about the guidelines/expectations for interacting with Sully. Nearly all of our seventh and eighth graders are familiar with Sully from last year.
If you prefer for your child to not interact with Sully, please contact Ms. Hammons so she can make the teachers aware.
iPad

Chargers

If your child did not turn in the school-issued iPad charger in May, he/she did not receive a charger this week. If you would like to purchase a replacement charger, a used one costs $10 and a new one costs $24.

Chargers can be purchased in the SMS office.
student council

SMS Student Council

The SMS student council officers will meet in room 703 at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12th.

On Thursday, August 14th at 7:15 a.m. in the Great Room, there is an open meeting for any SMS student who is interested in joining the SMS student council for the 2025-2026 school year.

If you have questions about student council, please see Mr. or Mrs. Zeigenbein.
band

Sixth Grade Band

The elective choices for sixth grade students are band, choir, and study hall.
If your child is currently in study hall but has expressed interest in joining band, it is not too late. Please encourage your child to see Ms. Hammons on Monday if they would like to join band.

As a reminder, students who choose band/choir are expected to stay in that class until after the first concert, which is in October for choir and in December for band.

free breakfast and lunch

Food Services

Scott 2 is fortunate to have the opportunity to offer free breakfast and lunch to all of our students this year.
Check out this link for breakfast and lunch menus.

Please remember that students must have money in their cafeteria account if they want a second tray, extras, or items from the snack line.

Like many schools, we occasionally experience some supply/distribution delays. We will follow the posted menus when possible, but will have to make adjustments at times.
